Silvio Waisbord

Silvio Waisbord, PhD, has been Senior Program Officer at AED since 2002. Presently, he is the Advocacy and Communication Advisor for the USAID-funded Africa's Health in 2010 Project. He has worked on communication issues related to various international health programs (infectious diseases, child and maternal health). Previously, he was an Associate Professor and Director of the Journalism Resources Institute at Rutgers University where he managed the organization of international meetings, developed fundraising initiatives, and collaborated with partnering universities and donors. He is the author and co-editor of four books and numerous articles on development communication, journalism, and health.
