Child Survival

Around the world, the leading causes of mortality among children are malnutrition, diarrheal diseases, acute respiratory illnesses, and communicable diseases. AED is engaged in and committed to improving the odds for survival for infants and children through its international child survival programs. For the past 25 years, AED has trained health care workers, designed and implemented behavior change communication programs at national and sub-national levels, and developed innovative public-private partnerships to increase access to life-saving interventions. Our work covers a wide range of child survival interventions, including child nutrition and micronutrient programs; prevention and treatment of diarrheal disease, acute respiratory illness, and malaria; and immunization for vaccine-preventable diseases.
