Behavior Change Communication - Improving Healthy Behaviors Project in India 2010-2013

The India Behavior Change Communication-Improving Healthy Behaviors Project (BCC-IHBP) calls for fresh approaches to national and state-level institutional strengthening of Behavior Change Communication (BCC) and community-level implementation. The project is being implemented by FHI 360 with partners Population Council and Population Services International (PSI) and local organizations such as Public Health Foundations of India (PHFI). BCC-IHBP’s strategy is guided by the Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) framework which recognizes that individual health behaviors are influenced by environmental factors, including cultural, social norms, and economic issues. BCC-IHBP is being implemented in ten focus districts in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.
