Integrated Family Health Program (IFHP) (2008 - 2010)

This USAID-funded project is implemented by Pathfinder International Ethiopia (PIE) and John Snow Inc. (JSI) in partnership with the Consortium of Reproductive Health Agencies (CORHA) and AED.  It builds on the former FP/RH Project, managed by PIE, and the ESHE Program, managed by JSI.  The program aims to improve health behaviors and promote high utilization of quality health services and products, particularly regarding FP/RH, MNCH, HIV/AIDS, nutrition, and malaria. IFHP supports decentralization and integrates delivery of select packages of care via the Health Extension Program (HEP) and the Accelerated Expansion of Primary Health Care (PHC) Coverage.  To support the Ethiopian government in achieving its ambitious health goals, partnerships with the public and private sectors as well as with civil society are being promoted. The program operates in 283 woredas of Amhara, Oromia, SNNPR, and Tigray, and to a lesser extent in the Benishangul-Gumuz and Somali regions.
