Making Medical Injections Safer (2004 - 2009)

The Making Medical Injections Safer (MMIS) project was designed to reduce the transmission of blood-borne pathogens, particularly HIV, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C, through unsafe injections. The MMIS name refers to two identical projects operating in two different countries, one funded by USAID and the other by the CDC in a cooperative agreement. AED, as a subcontractor to John Snow Inc., supported MMIS teams in ten countries by providing technical expertise in behavior change, advocacy, and communication at both the global and country levels.
