MARAM Project (West Bank Improved Village and Community Heath Services Program) (2001 - 2005)

The MARAM Project worked to improve health care systems and to meet needs of Palestinian families in reproductive health, child health, nutrition, and emergency care services. MARAM collaborated with the Palestinian Ministries of Health and Education as well as public, private, and non-governmental organizations to strengthen the technical and organizational capacity of Palestinian health care providers. AED led the behavior change communications and nutrition components with community-based grantees, local health clinics, and mass media organizations. AED's BCC strategy resulted in increased awareness of key behavioral messages and target groups showed large shifts toward promoted behaviors. The MARAM Project was funded by USAID, with IBM as the prime contractor.
