Guide to Diagnostic Role Play - Change Innovation

This guide describes diagnostic role play, a qualitative research method that combines the process of diagnosis, or examination and analysis, with role play. Participants act out the typical attitudes and behaviors of individuals in a given context to extract insight on current behaviors and effective strategies that promote and support healthier behavior. The guide includes an overview of diagnostic role play, staff roles and responsibilities, a guide for note-takers, and a number of role-playing scenarios for parents and students.
